These systems use fish to provide nutrients to the plants. They are not too difficult to build and they work very well. These were built by Jason in Austin.

The fish died (accident) so I am running the system from what is left in the drum. I will use some compost tea into the tank the fish were in and see if I can finish the season with that. Its not major if I lost these plants however I do not intend that will happen SOURCE: www.webofcreation.org
